Jr. Visual Designer (Contract to Hire)
Location: Chicago (On-site)
Duration: 3-Month Contract with potential Full-Time Hire
As a Jr. Visual Designer at SO Dsgn, you will have the opportunity to advance your career, while gain valuable design experience. The diversity of projects at our studio will allow you to showcase your versatility and develop a wide range of design skills. You will also have the chance to contribute to the development of our studio culture and work alongside a dedicated small team of passionate and driven designers. With a smaller team, you will have the opportunity to make a significant impact and be an integral part of our studio's success.

Collaborate with the design team to develop brand identities, packaging designs and/or UI/UX (motion graphics is a plus)
Conceptualize and craft compelling visuals that connect to a strong idea or story
Contribute to both client facing projects and internal studio initiatives
Contribute to the development of the design team's process and workflow—from initial discovery, to concept ideation and refinement, to final execution and delivery

Strong conceptual thinking and storytelling ability
Strong visual presentation ability and graphic design sensibilities
Work that demonstrates experience in brand identity design, packaging design, UI/UX and/or motion graphics
Self-driven with a strong work ethic and attention to detail
Strong communication and collaboration skills
Proficient in industry-standard design software (e.g. Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, After Effects is a plus)

A degree in Graphic Design or related field
Prior internship experience in a design field is required
1+ years of professional experience in a design field is preferred
A strong portfolio demonstrating your skills and experience
